Accessing the website and server log files
When you access our website, your browser automatically transmits data to our server that is technically necessary to display the website to you:
- IP address of the requesting device,
- date and time of access,
- address accessed (URL), including any search terms or postcodes entered, insofar as they form part of the address,
- amount of data transferred and status code,
- referrer URL (the previously visited page), insofar as your browser transmits it,
- browser type and operating system.
We process this data to ensure that a connection can be established and that the website can be used smoothly, to evaluate system security and stability, and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and proper operation of the website. We do not use this data to draw conclusions about you personally.
The log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest or anonymised in such a way that they can no longer be attributed to a device.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking
This website does not set any cookies for visitors and does not store any other information in your browser either (no local storage, no tracking pixels). We do not use any analytics or marketing services and do not create user profiles. Consent under § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) is therefore not required, and we do not display a cookie banner.
Exception: employees who log in to the editorial area of the website receive a technically necessary session cookie. It becomes invalid when they log out and otherwise expires after 23 days at the latest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Fonts, maps and features without third-party providers
All content is delivered from our own server. No data is transferred to third parties when you visit the website, in particular:
- Fonts are stored on our server; there is no connection to Google Fonts or other font providers.
- Maps (service stations, sales partners, sales territories) are loaded entirely from our server. The map data comes from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), Natural Earth and GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and is stored as files on our server. There is no connection to Google Maps or other map services.
- Search: Your search terms are transmitted to our server, evaluated there and not stored permanently (exception: briefly in the server log files, see above). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- “Who is your contact?” and radius search: The postcode you enter is evaluated in your browser and not sent to us. For the radius search, your browser loads a table of postcodes from our server.
- Links to social networks (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) are simple links. You only leave our website when you click on one of them; the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies. Merely visiting our website does not establish any connection to these networks.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide (e.g. name, contact details, content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively, provided that no statutory retention obligations prevent this.
Recipients and processors
We do not sell, trade or rent out your data. To operate the website, we use service providers who act on our behalf as processors in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR and are bound by our instructions:
- Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp (Germany) — website hosting; Data Protection Officer contact: datenschutz@mittwald.de
- Bajuku — web & design made to measure, Daniel Frings, Buschfelder Hof 1, 52396 Heimbach (Germany) — development, maintenance and technical support of the website
The data is processed in Germany; no data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA.
Beyond this, we only pass on data to third parties without your express consent if we are obliged to do so by law or by an order of a public authority or court.
SSL/TLS encryption
To protect your data during transmission, this website uses state-of-the-art encryption (HTTPS). You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol and by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
What are your rights?
With regard to your personal data, you have the following rights vis-à-vis us:
- access to the data we store about you and its processing (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure of the data we store about you (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of data processing where we are not yet permitted to erase your data due to legal obligations (Art. 18 GDPR),
- objection to the processing of your data by us (Art. 21 GDPR), and
- data portability, provided you have consented to the data processing or have concluded a contract with us (Art. 20 GDPR).
You can exercise all of the data subject rights described above against us by sending your specific request to the following contact details:

Spessartstraße 2-4

Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time, e.g. with the supervisory authority responsible for the federal state in which you reside or with the authority responsible for us as the controller.
A list of supervisory authorities (for the non-public sector) with their addresses can be found at: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.
What right to object do you have in individual cases?
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; this also applies to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Art. 4(4) GDPR.
If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless:
- we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or
- the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
The objection is not subject to any formal requirements and should preferably be addressed to our Data Protection Officer:
